Here is some detailed information about the workshop:

Equality Florida’s Transgender and Gender Non-conforming Cultural Competency and Inclusion Workshop bridges the gaps between the Unitarian Universalist’s current social justice advocacy and inclusion work around LGBTQ issues and Florida’s rapidly growing transgender and gender non-conforming population. Our team has over a decade of training experience and a crew of highly skilled trainers who will create a specially tailored training to help your congregations promote inclusion, diversity and intersectionality in their messaging, practices, and advocacy by bringing awareness to the safe gender inclusion needs of the transgender and gender non-conforming community. All of our trainers are transgender and/or gender non-conforming identified and are trained to adapt to the needs of your faith and service community.

The June 30th training at UU Tallahassee will be interactive, fun and take place in a safe setting. The workshop is designed to help attendees recognize their privilege, bring awareness of discrimination and oppression, support gender inclusion, and use appropriate language when dealing with transgender and gender non-conforming individuals in daily interactions, public presentations, media, at church meetings and in your personal lives. After the training the TransAction staff can help support your UU congregation with any internal policy changes you might want to make, as well as resources for transgender and gender non-conforming individuals in your area.
