Lal will share his reflections on seminal writers Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau after recent visits to Concord and Walden Pond. He’ll include how Hindu and Buddhist texts influenced them and their contributions to the American philosophical movement of Transcendentalism with its emphasis on intuition over dogma and creed.
