I just returned from UUWomenSpirit at the Mountain Retreat and Learning center on the top of a mountain near Highlands North Carolina. We were secluded amongst the clouds and in the rain considering “Inviting the Sacred into our Lives”. I feel refreshed and my bowl is full.
I am sorry I missed Rev Julies’ last service with us. She has given us so much, I am glad the congregation voted to give her Minister Emerita status. Thanks everyone who helped with the mosaic challis mirror we made for her. You all did a beautiful job. The plates that where broken for this project came from our community.
We continue our search for an Interim Minister, and will keep you informed.
It has been quite an experience serving as your President this year. It was not at all what I thought I was signing up for. I have grown to understand the workings of the church, and especially to realize the level of devotion to this community that so many of you have. You have given me the gift of trust and reassurance and I am grateful for that. It has been a time for growth for me. I am sure that Nancy Hagman will do her best as President and I will still be there as past President to support her.
I hope you all have a lovely Summer.
Speak respectfully,
listen to understand,
act compassionately
