Welcome New Members!

Again, welcome to the our church community.  We’re sure you’ll find our warm and welcoming congregation to be a good fit for you. Although you’ve been given a folder full of lots of information, a few of the items deserve a little further explanation.

The Personal Info form – As you may mention your interests and talents, we’ll work on making introductions to folks at the church that you’d likely have shared interests with. You can give Laurie Winterberg the form or ask someone to put it into the Membership mail slot in the office area.

Simple Church – We have  web-based membership software for members called “Simple Church.”
Laurie has created your basic profile and would encourage you to explore it.  Simple Church (SC) is password protected and accessing your info is pretty straightforward.  On the church website, under “Members” there is info about logging into SC and other features. It’s a good way for you to see the church activities calendar, connect to other members and see your history of contributions.  There is a several page FAQ document about Simple Church in the info packet.

Laurie will be available after service for if you want her to demo any of its features.   There’s a Simple Church app for your smart phone that’s pretty handy as well, for making phone calls, sending txt messages, getting driving directions and viewing the church calendar. Like Facebook, Simple Church allows a person to upload a photo of themselves (which is really helpful in getting to know people).  You can upload your own OR Laura Keith King, who is a gifted artist and photographer, can take your photo and upload it to your profile.  Just catch her any Sunday when you’re at church. If you’re a Facebook user, there is a one-page listing in your packet of some of the more popular UU pages.

UU World Magazine – Members receive a subscription to this UU Magazine.  There was a sample edition in your packet.  Terra in the church office will get your subscription started.

Charlotte Crane, who is a retired editor from the Pensacola News Journal, will be contacting you as she writes up bios of new members for publication in the monthly newsletter “The LIGHT.”

General information and guidance about pledging.  Our Treasurer – Erin Renfroe or Finance Co-Chairs – Marylee Donnelly or Laurie Winterberg can answer your questions about all things money related
