A haul of blankets and coats valued at $700 was donated by UUCP congregants and delivered January 12 to the Street Solutions youth outreach program of Children’s Home Society (CHS). CHS Counselor April Hein received the donations, which also included hygiene items and a $100 gift card for the purchase of a changing table for one of the program youth, who just gave birth this week. Hein said, “We so appreciate your care for these young people in our community as they transition to adulthood.” The Street Solutions program serves youth aged 16-22 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
