Welcome August
Our ECSD and Santa Rosa County school students will head back to school on August 10. Seems kind of early, I know. This is what air-conditioning and the move away from an agrarian culture has brought us.
We will be starting a quilt top in the Rainforest Room this Month. During our remote Sunday School class we read a story about building and being a part of a community, The All-Together Quilt by Lizzy Rockwell is our inspiration for our quilt. Our theme will be Our Blue Boat Home. Each person will get a square to decorate, crazy quilt style, with scraps of fabric, embroidery to represent their contribution to the community.
We will not have our official start to our liturgical church year until September 11. On the eleventh we will have our Ingathering Ceremony in the service that Sunday. We will bring something from our summer travels, a pebble, a sea shell, or a small bottle of water to add to our story. This will be a Service For All Ages, (SFAA) where the children will stay with their adults in the sanctuary for the service.
Our SFAA in August is still to be determined. Please keep an eye out for our Saturday morning email for updates.
Sunday Mornings
Each Sunday please stop by the Children’s Religious Education table in the Foyer to sign in your child for class and to find out what is going on in RE this month.
The children will start with you in the service and will be sung out to class after the Time For All Ages.
QUILT
Every one, young and old is invited to contribute to the quilt. We will be having at least one second hour activity day to work together. Please contact Sarah Stubbs if you want to participate.
