FROM THE BOARD…Yep…it’s happening

Have you noticed? We have new crash bar locks on our doors so we can exit easily. However, there are some changes needed to the Sunday morning routine, so they will be unlocked in a timely fashion. Patience is needed…but progress is happening.

Our Memorial Garden has new name plaques honoring loved ones who were not officially members but are important to us. Thanks to Kate Wolverton for her skills and expertise with creating a mosaic in honoring them, and to Penny Featherstone, Lisa Hudson, Marcy Moreland and Laurie Winterberg for their creative assistance. Stop by and take a look-see. It’s facing the Memorial Garden, on the back of the brick column where the Members’ plaque is hung.

Our Budget drive is in full force, with the quarterback throwing for a ‘Hail Mary.’ It’s been fun to hear the latest ‘Miss Matters’ on Sunday, answering many questions and clarifying the critical needs for pledging and budgeting. Thanks to the Coaches behind the scenes, Laurie Winterberg and Marylee Donnelly with the ‘inquisitive Billye Cutchen.’ Miss Matters was a “Former Treasurers” Production.

The Board welcomed Lal Goel as a member at large. We look forward to his contributions and new ideas.
While acknowledging current progress and events, we are also looking ahead to next year. The Board discussed Leadership potential in the congregation as well as Leadership Training opportunities. Next year is the conclusion of our five-year Long Range Plan, which will need to be reviewed and updated. In addition, we are having an ongoing discussion with Reverend Alice Syltie about a second year with our congregation as we continue to transition with our community.
When asked…or just stepping up…join the Leadership of our Congregation. Just “catch the pass….”

Nancy Hagman, Board President
