At the last Board meeting, the Board created a Covenant, which was agreed on by everyone present. Since this is a “living” document, it will be reviewed and “re-Covenanted” when others are present or join. This process went very smoothly since the prior Board provided a wonderful Covenant to adapt and follow. Thank you, last year’s Board!
In addition, we identified three goals for the Board to focus on for the coming year:
1. Engage and support the Ministry Teams, including filling vacant Team Leader positions.
2. Facilitate a smooth transition from a Settled Minister to a part-time Contract Minister.
3. Work with the congregation and with Rev. Alice to create a vision for the church’s future.
Our Congregation already embarked on a long-range plan that expands 2015-2020. The Board will be reviewing the plan to identify goals accomplished and use this as a guide for the next year as well.
The long-range plan includes securing a full-time Settled Minister. We are anticipating further conversations with the congregation and Reverend Alice Syltie in guiding our way, clarifying our objectives, re-establishing our identity and securing our future goals. Self-identity is an evolving process and so is the Church identity. So here we go…. together….
See you in Church,
Nancy Hagman, UUCP President
