Happy Birthday Hannelore

Hannelore Musial, who turned 91 on Nov. 8, celebrated the occasion not just once, but with lots of friends at luncheon dates throughout the week. A UUCP member since 1988, Hannelore is known not only for her happy smile and marvelous Sunday Sweets, but also for her love of opera and the white Christmas stars created by her and her late husband, Victor, and still twinkling among our annual holiday decorations.

Hannelore and Victor moved to Pensacola in 1988 when he was transferred here from Connecticut with American Cyanamid Co. Hannelore spent her childhood in Germany during the Nazi Regime and moved to the United States from Germany in 1952 at the age of 24, after training as an interpreter and becoming employed as an au pair for a family in New Jersey. Victor spent the war years as a German prisoner of war and came to the United States in 1951 as a Polish displaced person. Along with Hannelore, he also joined UUCP in 1988; he died in 2006.
