For the Sunday gathering on March 3 and to mark the beginning of Women’s History Month, UUCP Member Pat Quinn-Gleich is putting together a presentation on women who have been significant in the history of UU (both from the Unitarian and Universalist branches).
Rather than just provide histories of the women, Pat would like to include some “live” representations of several of the women who were trailblazers. She is looking for 5-6 women of UUCP who would be willing to study the biography of a particular historical woman from biographical notes provided by Pat and then impersonate that woman as part of the overall presentation.
The dramatic UUCP women volunteers may do this in costume — that would be great — but it is not a requirement. Volunteers don’t need to memorize the biography, just use it to understand the character they are portraying and develop their impersonation. These impersonations will be short (1-2 minutes). Each volunteer will be introduced so that congregants can put each portrayal in context.
Anyone who is interested or who thinks they may be interested should email Pat Quinn-Gleich.
