Hi all, my name is Honor (they/them) and I am excited to journey with UUCP as your new Children’s Religious Education Coordinator (CREC)! I am currently a student at UWF majoring in Social Work and minoring in Public Administration. I am also a substitute teacher, spending most of my time subbing at Escambia Westgate, a … Continue reading CRE: April 2024
Dear friends, As with many of us, I enjoy the changing of the seasons. Having grown up almost entirely in the South, and never really lived anywhere else except for a year in Japan, just about every year of my five decades has been in the southern states. You might think that would get me … Continue reading April 2024: From the President
Dear congregation, Our friend Jack Comstock approached me several months ago to ask if we could host an event to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Beatles premiering on the Ed Sullivan show back in 1964. To me, it sounded like fun. Probably like most people, I’ve always held a soft spot for the Beatles. … Continue reading March 2024: From the President
These last 18 months have seen us make the transition to a 100% lay-led congregation. It could not have been possible without the commitment, dedication and hard work of our lay leadership. We owe a huge thanks to our leaders as well as everyone who has stepped forward and asked, “How can I help?”, and … Continue reading Now and Then: 2024-2025

With that in mind, I am … Continue reading February 2024: CRE
Dear friends, It was great to see everyone at the recent Mid-Year Congregational Meeting. We wouldn’t be able to do this work without the incredible assistance of so many incredible folks in … Continue reading February 2024: From the President

Rather than just provide histories of the women, Pat would like to … Continue reading Looking for Women with a Dramatic Flair!
Dear friends, The holidays have come and mostly gone, but we still have the last days of Kwanzaa and the New Year to look forward to as 2023 comes to a close. While we could easily do a look-back to see what we gained and lost this last year, let’s instead look forward. With the … Continue reading January 2024 – From the President
Most of us agree that for our church to thrive (or even survive), we need a continuing influx of new members. The Board has decided to start an “Outreach” team to raise our public profile in the community and bring new people into the church, with the ultimate goal of building membership so that our … Continue reading New Ministry Team: Outreach
Dear friends, When President Abraham Lincoln wrote the Proclamation of Thanksgiving in 1864, the idea was to offer a space for the nation to remember the good while living in a sea of sorrow. At that time, the sorrow was death from the costly Civil War, but also personal losses that come to all of … Continue reading December 2023 – From the President
