Virtual Service: Building Beloved Community Within Unitarian Universalism

Rev. Alice Shares a message from Rev. Dr Mark Morrison-Reed:
Following the 1961 merger of Unitarians and Universalists, Universalists began to be absorbed into the stronger Unitarian identity. The movement to reclaim our Universalist heritage is growing among us.  As we contemplate Beloved Community and the Side With Love emphasis on embracing diversity, the Rev. Dr. Mark Morrison-Reed offers a perspective worthy of our attention.

In addition to growing up in Unitarian Universalism, Rev. Dr. Mark Morrison-Reed and his wife Rev. Donna Morrison-Reed served as co ministers in Toronto and at First Universalist Church of Rochester N.Y. from 1979 until their retirement in 2005. He is author or editor of several books, including Black Pioneers in a White Denomination, In Between: Memoir of an Integration Baby, and The Selma Awakening: How the Civil Rights Movement Tested and Changed Unitarian Universalism.
