Brian Heike is President of Gay Grassroots of NWFL, President of the Escambia Democratic LGBT Caucus (Emerald Coast Equality) and VP of Santa Rosa Democratic Women’s Club. Brian shares his experiences of coming out during the heady days of the Gay Liberation Movement during the 1970s, the fear and horror of living through the AIDS crisis in the 1980s, throwing himself into political activism as his own health deteriorated, and coming out the other side.
