The Problem with Plastic

Dr. Sisskin has been a local environmental activist for the past 26 years and has worked as a researcher at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, at Everglades National Park, was a Lecturer at the UWF Dept. of Public Health and is now a Research Associate in the Biology Department there. She produces the daily EcoMinute on WUWF Public Media. Her presentation will discuss the many problems with plastic. There are potential human health concerns and serious environmental issues. Most shorebirds and various other marine organisms have plastics inside them. We can reduce the amount of these types of plastics reaching waterways by using less and disposing of them properly.
