UU congregations affirm and promote the democratic process, and the democratic process is the responsibility of the people. This process depends on the people learning about the issues and being ready to act on them. One of the issues going forward in our larger community right now is a vote on the amendments to the Florida constitution. How these votes go will affect our lives for many years. The League of Women Voters has studied the proposed amendments and has prepared pro and con materials about them. Paula Montgomery will lead a discussion on this important information which we all need to study before we vote on November 6th.
The 5th Sunday Share the Plate offering will go to Floridians for a Fair Democracy toward the effort to inform the public and encourage all to vote YES on Amendment 4.
