The UUCP Yard Sale is Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th
1. Bring items to the church beginning Monday, April 16 or arrange to bring your items when someone is at the church during the week. Kitchen items, linens, toys, children’s books, outdoor items, furniture, electronics, shoes, purses, hats, knickknacks, tools, jewelry, pictures, collectibles, appliances, gardening, and pet items are all good sellers. Items can be placed in the back hallway. If you can put the items in stackable boxes, that would be a “big help.”
2. Bring us your portable folding tables by Sunday, April 29. Be sure to put your name on underside. Items sell better that are displayed on tables easy to see and examine. Tables can be picked up on Sunday, May 6. We always need more tables!
3. Contact Georgieanna Bryant if you have a vehicle such as a pick-up truck that can be used to pick up heavy items from members’ homes that are unable to get these items to the church. If you don’t have a truck, but can help with pick-ups, the truck driver always needs helpers. Also contact us if you need large or heavy items picked up and brought to the church.
4. Plan to stay after church Sunday, April 29 to help with initial set up. Help is needed to set up some long tables and to bring items from storage (the pod outside) to the church foyer. Just thirty minutes or an hour or so would help a lot.
5. Volunteer to help with set up and pricing of items on Monday, April 30, Tuesday, May 1, and Wednesday, May 2 beginning at 9:00 a.m. (until about 4:00 p.m.) Any shift during these times will be appreciated. A sandwich lunch will be provided. Other food donations appreciated. We need lots of helpers just to organize items so they will sell better. No expertise required. Remember volunteer helpers find the “early bargains.” We may also work Thursday, May 3 if we don’t get done on Wednesday.
6. Volunteer to help with actual sale on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5. Any shift you can work between 7:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. would be great. Help will also be needed on Saturday from about 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. to help pack up any remaining items for donation to charity.
