J.U.S.T. Pensacola has had an interesting and largely successful year with monitoring Affordable Housing and Civil Citations for adults. Over 700 people attended the Nehemiah Action, including dozens of UUs. The new project to increase access for Mental Health has a solid proposal. The group will be working hard to acquaint our responsible elected officials with the plan.

We anticipate a positive response at next year’s Nehemiah Action. Lots of work is ongoing in the several committees.

It is time now to celebrate a bit. I hope that you are planning to attend the Celebration Cookout on Tuesday, June 2nd at 5:30pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 160 West Government St. You can make a reservation by going to the J.U.S.T. Pensacola website. Look up “Events,” and sign up. I will be bringing a big batch of my signature chopped veggie salad. What would you like to bring?

While celebrating the cycle that is winding to a close, we’ll be looking ahead. We need some new volunteers to be ready in the fall to host House Meetings that begin the new cycle in October or November. Be thinking about it. Ask Paula or Lauren about how that works.
